Home Health Aides Provide Senior Care in Los Alamitos

Southern California is a fine place to be this summer. The breeze is nice and the water's fine, after all. Still, it is nice to get a change in sights and as is common during summer, many families in Los Alamitos are spending time away at another destination for a fun and restful vacation. The simple luxury of absorbing new sights, unfortunately, is often excluded only to families who are able to leave without having to worry about important things back home. Many times these important things include having to take care of a senior relative. Because they are more susceptible to disease and accidents, many seniors are not able to live without care and supervision. And since it can be even more difficult for them to travel, their caretakers must often settle with just staying at home in the summer.

We at A-1 Home Care understand the burdens that can come from caregiving and in light of this, we would like to offer these families a chance to relieve their responsibilities. By utilizing our Senior Care services, our customers can take a well deserving break without having to worry about their loved ones back home. Our senior caregivers, trained with 2 year or more of in home caregiving experience, are more than able to administer Senior Care along with other facets of care including Parkinson's Care, Companion Care and Heart Attack Care.

Caring for mom with Alzheimer's Disease/ Elder Law & Conservatorship

Quality of life of individuals with dementia depends more on the support and understanding of family, friends and non-medical professionals (such as caregivers) than health care providers. Memory loss is only one of the many signs of dementia, which include anxiety, anger and depression. Without knowing a loved one has dementia, closed family members and friends perceive such unwarranted outbursts or anger against them as personal attacks, or may accuse each other of wrongdoing based on statements made by a person with dementia.

When Alzheimer has progressed to a stage in which the elder is unable to make basic decisions regarding food, shelter, health and self care, it is long time to appoint a conservator. Conservatorship is appointed to (usually) family members of trusted friends who can make decisions regarding the well being of an incapacitated loved one.

A-1 Home Care has worked with elders and their conservators in Los Alamitos. We offer caregivers in Los Alamitos, Irvine, Anaheim, Newport Beach, Brea and other Orange County cities. Our live in caregivers are fully licenced, insured and bonded.

Importance of working out with MS/ A-1 Home Care Los Alamitos

No matter what stage your multiple sclerosis (MS) is in, you can benefit from exercise. Many studies have shown that seniors and elders with advanced MS can reap the benefits of physical activity. Regular exercise can help improve:
  • Heart health
  • Physical strength
  • Bladder and bowel function
  • Feelings of fatigue and depression
  • Overall attitude
  • Participation in social activities
When you have multiple sclerosis, exercise doesn't have to be something intense or lengthy. Moderate exercise, like brisk walking, for 20 minutes a day can give you the same benefits as intense workouts that leave you tired and sweaty. You should base your workout on your unique needs, and change it every few months to avoid plateaus. And if you've heard that exercise can trigger a relapse, that's a myth. No studies have shown that exercise leads to an increase in disease activity or an MS relapse. Please remember to consult your doctor before starting any exercise program.
A-1 Home Care has 24 Hour Care Services for Seniors and Elderly has provided over 20 years of dedicated care for elders in Los Alamitos, Irvine, Anaheim, Newport Beach, Brea and other Orange County cities.
